In analyzing Khalil Gibran’s poems we will take a detailed look at the following issues:

  • Figurative language used in Khalil Gibran poems.

  • Meaning of the content in the symbolic language used.

Functions of the study

In analyzing the practices of the study, we can take a detailed look at the main functions that will follow, such as:

  • Identifying the figurative language used in Khalil Gibran’s poems

  • Defining the content of the figurative language used.

The connotation of the study will help with the understanding of symbolic language in poems with indirect meanings, such as the content in “The Madman”. In pursuing this study I hope that it will bring further knowledge and understanding of indirect meaning in poems, and eliminate room for any misunderstood content.
